I got first place in my school fun run on Friday! What a race! I quickly pounded my way to second. The lead girl had been sprinting the entire thing (I was still on her tail, but not sprinting), and was getting tired. In the last three blocks, I caught, then passed her. My dad said that when I started srinting, even he had a hard time keeping up with me! I was about a block ahead of second place, and my time for eight tenths of a mile was about (drumroll please)… 6:10! If the run was a mile, my time would be near 7:30, my best time ever! I got this awesome medal. Here is a picture.

On Saturday, I went to my soccer game happy, knowing I had a car full of family coming to watch me play. My coach was out of town, so my mom helped another coach, well, coach us. During the beginning of the first half, I twisted my left knee, and had to come of the field. I really wanted to play the rest of the game and not go to get an x-ray, so I walked it off. It hurt to straighten my leg, but I withstood the pain, and was able to play a bit more of the first half. The reason I had to leave the field (again) was that after I kneed the ball, it started hurting (again). I played the entire second half, and scored a goal!!! We lost the game, 4-2, but I had fun playing. My knee still hurts, but not as much as it did yesterday. The title says it all, doesn’t it! Gotta go!!!

[...] That afternoon, we went out to Virginia Beach for Ellie’s last regular season soccer game. She played well and nearly scored an early goal on a booming shot that went just over the top bar. A defender slammed her moments later and Ellie went down, twisting her knee. She had to come out for most of the rest of the half. I was really worried about her, but she walked it off on the sideline, then played a strong second half. She scored a goal on an excellent cross from a teammate. Ellie wrote up the game and her first place in the school fun run on her blog. [...]

Ellie, When are you going to write some more stuff in your blog? It’s one of the ways I keep up with you and figure out what you’ve been up to. Come on, girl. Your cousins have been here, the pool opened, soccer, etc. Let’s hear from you…
